South Tampa is only 10 to 15 minutes from the Tampa International Airport and provides easy access to St. Petersburg and Clearwater via one of three ways, the Howard Franklin Bridge, the Gandy Bridge, and the Courtney Campbell Causeway.
Schools
Hillsborough County public schools serve the community. Neighborhood elementary and middle schools received "A" grades from the Florida Department of Education in 2000/2001/2002/2003.
Antique Stores All along the major roads in South Tampa, including MacDill Avenue, Gandy Blvd., South Dale Mabry Highway, El Prado and Bay to Bay Blvd., are many shops filled with priceless treasures.
MacDill Air Force Base The base is home to the 6th Air Mobility Wing and US Central Command. The annual Air Fest attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each spring.

Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club Located in Palma Ceia, on MacDill Avenue, in the exclusive area know as Golfview. Some of South Tampa's most impressive homes surround the club.
Bayshore Boulevard Where you can travel literally miles of sidewalk in any number of ways, on the sea-walled shore of the Hillsborough Bay. Whether you prefer a leisurely stroll, an energetic jog, or rollerblading, you will always find yourself in good company on Bayshore. Many of the area's finest and oldest grand homes are on Bayshore Blvd.
The Friendship Trail Bridge Located over Tampa Bay, the "old" Gandy Bridge has been replaced and is now a recreation trail. It is the world's longest over-the-water recreation trail (2.6 miles long - 13,770.5 ft). This bridge was saved from the wrecking ball when Pinellas County and Hillsborough County responded to a "Save the Gandy" bridge campaign by citizens by assuming ownership from the state. The "old" Gandy Bridge is now renamed "Friendship TrailBridge" and links Tampa and Pinellas County over Tampa Bay, a national estuary. It is a unique venue for bicyclists, in-line skaters, runners, joggers, family strollers, fishermen and persons with disabilities. Existing catwalks for fishermen were also enhanced from this recent project upgrade.

Florida Aquarium Located in the vibrant Channelside District of Downtown Tampa, the aquarium tells the state's water story from its underground source to the open sea. Visitors can talk to biologists or participate in special hands-on activities.
